SB147 HFA Longstreth and Fleischauer 3-6

            Delegates Longstreth and Fleischauer move to amend SB147 HFIN Am #1 3-4 on page 1, Section 22, lines 1 through 7, by striking out section 22 in its entirety, and inserting in lieu thereof, the following:

“Each county or regional solid waste authority is hereby authorized to impose a similar solid waste assessment fee to that imposed by §22-15-11 of this code at a rate not to exceed 50¢ $1.50 per ton or part thereof upon the disposal of solid waste in that county or region. All  50¢ of all assessments due shall be applied to the reasonable costs of administration of the county's regional or county solid waste authority including the necessary and reasonable expenses of its members, and any other expenses incurred from refuse cleanup, litter control programs, or any solid waste programs deemed considered necessary to fulfill its duties. $1.00 of the assessments shall be deposited into the “Solid Waste Planning Fund” created pursuant to §22C-4-30 of the code, to be distributed equally among, and paid over to, each county solid waste authority to be expended for the purposes as provided pursuant to §22C-4-1 et seq. of this code.”
